In 2012 Cortogenia paid tribute to the ALCINE Film Festival of Alcalá de Henares / Madrid, which has become a major player in the world of short film over the 42 years it has been held.
During the Closing Awards Ceremony for Cortogenia 2012, a considerable part of the festival staff, led by its director, received the award from Fernando Colomo, Javier Revollo and Eduardo Chapero Jackson, three filmmakers who whose careers have special ties to the festival.
Countless currently established filmmakers have made their way through this festival, such as Fernando Colomo, Alex de la Iglesia, Juanma Bajo Ulloa, Fesser, J. A. Bayona, Fresnadillo, Vigalondo, Eduardo Chapero-Jackson, Vicente Villanueva, Natalia Mateo, Javier Rebollo, Felipe Vega, David Planell, Álvaro Pastor, Gracia Querejeta, Álex Montoya and so many others. Many of them joined in on this tribute last night, through either attending or sending loving messages.
